Investment Director: Joel Hepburn-Brown

Joel holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science (Jurisprudence) degrees from the University of Adelaide and holds a Master of Insurance and Risk Management degree. Joel completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with the Law Society of South Australia and is admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Joel has worked as a Project Manager in the Mergers and Acquisitions teams of Marsh Pty Limited and Aon Risk Services Limited, the world’s largest and second largest Risk Management organisations. In these roles Joel provided insurance advisory and due diligence advice to clients who predominantly included Private Equity firms and ASX 200 corporate clients. Joel took part in the successful sale of the Nursing Agency of Australia Group to DB Capital Partners in 2004.

Chairman: Dr. John Wyett

John is the Chairman of Torrens Capital and commenced this role in 2009. John is a leading Adelaide businessman and is the Managing Director of Corporate Health Group, Australia’s leading provider of occupational health and injury clinics. John has been involved in mergers and acquisition as a proprietor of businesses and in his capacity as a company director. John has sold businesses to Private Equity firms and to corporate buyers, including listed companies.

John is a Medical Practitioner and holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Adelaide University and is a Fellow of the Australian Medical Association and Australian College of Occupational Medicine.

John has extensive business experience gained over 40 years and has held directorships in private companies, industry bodies and Not For Profit organisations. A selection of these include:

  • Member Australian Medical Association (SA) Executive Committee and Chairman of the Finance Committee (1995-2005);
  • Executive Chairman Workcomp Pty Ltd;
  • Chairman OCP (Qld) Pty Ltd; and
  • Director Hutt Street Foundation

John holds senior consulting positions including roles as a Senior Medical Officer to Defense Force Recruiting, Medical Advisor to the Motor Accidents Commission of SA and Medical Advisor to a number of large health Insurance Companies.


Executive Director: Lyn Hepburn-Brown

Lyn holds a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of South Australia and is a past chair of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council as well as a past board member of the Nurses Board of South Australia. Lyn has extensive management experience at Executive and Board level gained over more than 20 years of business.

Between 1991 and 2004 Lyn grew the Nursing Agency of Australia group of companies from a small Adelaide-based company into one of Australia’s largest nursing agencies with revenues in excess of $50 million. Lyn negotiated the successful sale of the Nursing Agency of Australia Group to DB Capital Partners in 2004.

Lyn then served as Chairperson and consultant to the Board of Pacific Nursing Solutions which was established on the back of the Nursing Agency of South Australia Group acquisition, managing the acquisition of complementary businesses. The successful investment by DB Capital Partners was recognised in the 2006 AVCAL awards as the best MBO under $50 million.


Executive Director: Richard Perkins

Richard holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide. Richard is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

As a practising Chartered Accountant and Director of Hayes Knight SA, Richard has over 20 years experience in the provision of business and corporate advice to the SME (small to medium sized enterprises) market in South Australia in addition to a number of private equity funds. Richard has played a pivotal role in advising a number of private equity firms including Champ Private Equity, DB Capital Partners and others in assessing and realising acquisition opportunities. In the past 6 years alone Richard has been involved in excess of 35 transactions ranging in size from $1 million to $20 million.

Richard also advises the boards of a number of significant medium sized enterprises in South Australia on strategic and business management issues. His experience extends to development of strategic and succession plans for business and improving business performance and profitability.
